Plexi by Angelo Mangiorotti, 1962
Plexi by Angelo Mangiorotti, 1962
The Plexi lamp, designed by the Italian architect, sculptor, and designer Angelo Mangiarotti in 1962, was initially produced in limited quantities.
Plexi lamps can be used individually or arranged in groups. These fixtures are particularly well-suited for spacious settings, where they truly shine when grouped together to create an impressive chandelier effect. Their substantial size makes them an ideal choice for grand halls, high-ceilinged spaces, as well as in hotels, restaurants, lobbies, and corporate environments. However, even a single Plexi lamp can have a transformative impact, infusing any room with its elegant style.
Constructed from Plexiglas, these lamps effectively transmit light from end to end, diffusing illumination throughout each cylinder while also emitting direct light from their lower ends. The lower section of each cylinder has been sandblasted to disperse a broader pool of light onto the surface below, enhancing their overall lighting performance.
