Collection: Gert Ambo
Gert Ambo is fascinated by the transformation of clay—from soft, malleable mass to timeless form. Rooted in architecture, his geometric sculptures are shaped by a precise, plate-like technique using walls to define the form. Others are freer in shape, emerging as imaginative figures or moving reflections of the world around us—sometimes humorous, sometimes serious.
He often incorporates moveable elements, entrances, or exits to create shifting spaces. Each piece begins as a drawing and is built with a focus on structure, surface, and color—often enhanced with slip before the first firing to achieve the desired texture and tone.
