Take As Long As You Might Take

Take As Long As You Might Take, 2013

An installation by Ryan Gander, first commissioned and exhibited at Daiwa Viewing Room, Hiroshima, Japan. The work features a standard ceiling-mounted sprinkler system activated throughout the otherwise empty gallery, with the water seamlessly drained and recycled back into the system.

During the exhibition, Gander orchestrated a photoshoot of three Japanese women modeling oversized Thom Browne men's suits within the space. The resulting images are hidden within the interior of the publication, bound using a traditional Japanese method. Readers must cut open the pages to reveal the concealed photographs, inviting an interactive exploration of the work.
