Stoneware Bowl – Rustic Charcoal
A handcrafted stoneware bowl by Bertel Bjerre, characterised by its softly tapered form and irregular rim. The coarse charcoal exterior has a raw, porous texture, contrasted by a lighter, subtly glazed interior.
The natural variations in the clay and surface give the piece an understated, sculptural quality.

About Bertel Bjerre
Bertel Bjerre is a Danish ceramic artist whose work explores the relationship between material, form and the natural world. With a background in art and design, his practice combines traditional ceramic techniques with an experimental approach to stoneware. Inspired by the coastal landscape surrounding his studio in Northern Zealand, Bjerre works with coarse clay, organic forms and a restrained palette of earthy tones. By combining different clays and construction techniques, he allows natural variations and unexpected patterns to emerge through the making and firing process. His sculptural tableware vessels celebrate the raw qualities of stoneware, where texture, colour and subtle irregularities give each piece its own distinct character. Bjerre graduated from the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in 1982 and is a member of Danish Crafts & Design Association (DKoD).
