Sculptural Wall Object – Linear Relief
A sculptural stoneware wall piece by Bertel Bjerre, defined by its elongated rectangular form and richly textured surface. Horizontal ridges are interrupted by circular relief details, creating a subtle interplay between geometry and organic irregularity.
The deep charcoal finish reveals variations in tone and texture, emphasizing the natural character of the clay.

About Bertel Bjerre
Bertel Bjerre is a Danish ceramic artist whose work explores the relationship between material, form and the natural world. With a background in art and design, his practice combines traditional ceramic techniques with an experimental approach to stoneware. Inspired by the coastal landscape surrounding his studio in Northern Zealand, Bjerre works with coarse clay, organic forms and a restrained palette of earthy tones. By combining different clays and construction techniques, he allows natural variations and unexpected patterns to emerge through the making and firing process. His sculptural tableware vessels celebrate the raw qualities of stoneware, where texture, colour and subtle irregularities give each piece its own distinct character. Bjerre graduated from the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in 1982 and is a member of Danish Crafts & Design Association (DKoD).
