About Estudio Vernís
Founded in 2019 by Alejandra Martínez and Coke Ballester, Estudio Vernís is a ceramic studio based in the mountains of eastern Spain. With backgrounds in architecture, the founders turned to clay as a slower and more tactile way of working. Specialising in wood-fired ceramics, the studio creates small batches of functional objects shaped by hand and finished with their own glaze formulations. Guided by material, fire, and process, each piece carries the unique marks of its making and reflects a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, utility, and natural imperfection.
