In 2016, Birgitte Due Madsen and Jonas Trampedach were honored with the prestigious Silver Hetsch medal for their creation, Moby—an accolade of the highest distinction from the Danish Art and Crafts Movement of 1879. While these two designers operate their independent studios in Copenhagen, their shared admiration for the supple, delicate qualities of plaster material, typically reserved for fine art and prototypes, brought them together for this remarkable collaboration, culminating in the birth of Moby. Originally crafted from plaster, this lamp has now been reimagined in a resilient matte acrylic material that preserves its velvety-smooth essence.
