Castiglioni often thought about unused spaces—those empty inches and square meters that could be filled with beautiful design but weren’t. This led him to create many designs specifically for corners in the home. One such design is the Lungangolo.
Lungangolo is a versatile piece of furniture originally made by Bernini. It features a frame with four slender, square pillars and square shelves at varying heights. The design is reinforced with a drawer and a side piece. Because the drawer's position and the removal of some support required it, Lungangolo was made in two versions to accommodate both left- and right-handed users.
