Nessino Table Lamp
Nessino is a smaller version of the iconic Nesso design, both of which are Italian design icons from the 1960s. This was a decade where design redefined the domestic landscape through the first uses of plastics, with designers such as Giancarlo Mattioli and Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti at the forefront of this movement. The Nessino Lamp, designed by Mattioli and the group, is an international, futuristic, and democratic design icon that resembles an otherworldly mushroom and provides diffused incandescent light. The design has staged its presence in several landmarks and is part of the permanent collection of prestigious institutions such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Museum of Modern Art.
