Sundance Studio: Woven Narratives
Her journey began with formal training in textile design at RMIT in 2018 and evolved through residencies and apprenticeships across Belgium, Iceland, Japan, and India. These global experiences gave Shepherd a deep appreciation for weaving’s heritage and inspired her to experiment with unconventional materials like horsehair, pine needles, and bark. This balance between tradition and innovation defines her work, where natural materials are carefully sourced to honor traditional patterns and techniques while pushing creative boundaries.

Each piece is meticulously handcrafted on vintage looms using ethically sourced yarns. The careful process of winding, threading, and knotting brings a sense of connection and care to every creation, blending raw textures with refined detail.

Now available at Tadaima, Emma Shepherd’s woven pieces range from bespoke wall hangings to handwoven coasters, each telling its own story. These wall tapestries will add warmth and texture to any modern interiors. As tactile art grows in popularity, her pieces stand out for their timeless design. Tadaima also offers the option to commission custom works, making her artistry a personal part of your home.

For Emma Shepherd, weaving is more than a craft—it’s a connection. To land, materials, and community. Through Sundance Studio, she invites us to embrace the slow, intentional beauty of handmade design.
